Notes for biography Dance at Glenelg: In a balloon and streamer decked marquee on the lawn of their home at Glenelg, Mr and Mrs LM Gordon tonight entertained 80 young guests at a dance to celebrate the coming-of-age of their son, John. John works on the Gordon family property Wahroonga, Burra, and many young guests motored from Burra for the dance. As hostess. Mrs Gordon was in a full-skirted ballerina of oyster pink and grey lame striped marquisette. The bodice was swathed and had a square neckline. John's brothers-in-law and sisters, Dr and Mrs David Kirby of Lockleys and Mr and Mrs. John Lovegrove of Burra were guests. Mrs Kirby's white organdie frock was banded with black lace on the full ballerina length skirt, and the fitting bodice buttoning to the waist from a small collar was also lace trimmed. Faille in a pretty seawater green shade was chosen by Mrs Lovegrove for her full-skirted ballerina with softly swathed bodice. John's third sister Jillian was in lemon and royal blue checked taffeta. Her frock had a square neckline, full skirt and puffed sleeves.
