OBITUARY:
"Brahan - Death of favourite servant: Mrs Anne Gordon, who was over fifty years in the service of the Seaforth family, died at Brahan Castle on Thursday morning, after a severe illness extending over three months. She entered the service of the late Seaforth as nurse, and subsequently maid to Mrs Keith Stewart Mackenzie, and finally housekeeper, in the capacity she also served both her daughters, Mrs Jeune and the Marchioness of Tweedale, both of whom were strongly attached to her, and looked on her more as a friend than a servant. During her last illness she was affectionately attended by Lady Tweedale, who now mourns the loss of one who was about her since her childhood." |

| Stories |
 | 1.15 - Ann GORDON Ann was a servant with the McKenzies at Brahan Castle for three generations for more fifty years - from her late teens to her death as an 68 year old.
The Seaforth Stewart-McKenzie were clan chiefs of considerable aristocratic standing.
Ann was held with affection by Julia McKenzie and others.
These notes have extensive detail of the McKenzies in order to identify (unsuccessfully) why Ann was held is such regard. |
