  Notes for biography	Philippe Lemaistre was born on 18th Sept 1831 on Jersey at St Ouen. He was a seaman and in 1858 he jumpoed ship in Adeliade from the 'Stamboul'. He married Harriet Gardener on 2nd May 1861 and had at least eight children. In 1866 he was convicted of wilful disobedience along with four crewmates on the 'Rantipede' and was sentenced to four weeks imprisonment with hard labour. The family home was in Stirling West where Philippe died on 12th April 1897.  [1]
