Biography :
* Richard was to follow in his father's steps by also becoming a Baker.
* He married twice
* First spouse was Agnes Cheeseman in March 1878 who died in March 1884. The Probate record states that her husband was "now residing in Victoria, Australia" and was granted Probate of her estate which was valued at only £5.
* His second wife was Frances Madeline Hazelwood, who he married just nine months after the death of Agnes. * It is not clear whether Richard went to Australia with his second wife.
* Richard died in Sydney hospital of Typhoid after 9 nines in hospital.
* His death certificate does not record his wife, nor his parents. His occupation is shown as Hawker, and he correctly states that he is the cousin of Chief Justice Wade (sic) of Adelaide.
