Death of Betsy Matheson, widow of Alexander Matheson, Sergeant 78th Foot, at 7 am on 6th January 1875 at Fearn Farm in Fearn, aged 76 years [c1799]. Her parents were George Murray, crofter (deceased) and Isabella Murray, nee Denoon (deceased). Cause of death was cramp for several years. There was no medical attendant. The informant was her son, John Matheson, who was present.
